God is about to resurrect your dream
During prayer, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper in my ear, “I want to resurrect your dead dreams”. This word came as a surprise to me. I didn’t think I had “dead dreams”. At that moment, I started to ask Holy Spirit to remind me of my “dead dreams”. I saw what seemed to me like a filing cabinet with so many files. Some were old files, some were new and some were torn. I heard God point to those pieces of paper. Then Holy Spirit reminded me of prophetic words which God had spoken over me. But somehow they were torn. I was asking God, “who ripped them up?”. He said, “ you did! It’s because you thought they they were dead dreams”. I didn’t really know how to take what God was showing me.
But through prayer the Holy Spirit highlighted to me the life of Jacob, who God resurrected his dead dream to see Joseph alive after twenty two years.
The Bible tells us that Jacob loved his son Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors (Genesis 37:3 ). On the other hand, Joseph’s brothers became jealous and hated him because of his dreams. As a result they threw him in a deep well, and eventually sold him to Egypt. They killed a young goat and dipped Joseph's robe in its blood. They sent the beautiful robe to their father with this message: "Look at what we found. Doesn't this robe belong to your son?" (Genesis 37:35). At this horrific news, Jacob tore his clothes and dressed himself in burlap.
“Then Jacob tore his garments and put sackcloth on his loins and mourned for his son many days. All his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted and said, “No, I shall go down to Sheol to my son, mourning.” Thus his father wept for him.”Genesis 37:34-35
At that moment every hope of seeing Joseph died. In his mind, Joseph died and he witnessed his blood. For over twenty years he lived and believed that Joseph died and that he will go to his grave with this pain.
During that time, a strong famine ravaged the land of Canaan and Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt. He encouraged his sons to go down to the land of Egypt and buy grain. To their horrific shock, they found out that the prime minister of Egypt is actually their brother Joseph whom they had sold as a slave into Egypt. Joseph recognised them and concealed his identity. But eventually he revealed to them who he was. He forgave them for what they have done to him and with Pharaoh’s permission, he invited them to come and live with him in Egypt. They were in shock and went back to their father telling him.
“And they told him, “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” Jacob become stunned at the news - he couldn’t believe it. Genesis 45:26. As I read this verse, I heard Holy Spirit say to me, “ my people will be stunned at what I am about to do in their lives. For I am about to resurrect their dead dreams”.
Dreaming dreams is connected to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In the book of Joel, we read, ““And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.”Joel 2:28 . This is quiet interesting because in reality, young people are those who are supposed to have dreams about life. But in this passage, we are told that when the Holy Spirit is poured out even the “old” can dream dreams. These dreams come from God. And since they come from God’s is the one who is able and willing to not only give you dreams, but to also resurrect those dreams and bring them to life.
Praying this word will encourage you to start dreaming His dreams through you and to decree and declare that every dead dream and prophetic word spoken over your life will be resurrected and come to fruition in Jesus name.
